The time has come for my works outing illustrated in full Technicolor:

http://www.openrunner.com/index.php?id=922460

Start 9:00 25th May
A few parvenu cyclists have mysteriously claimed to have failed dope tests, having seen the profile,  freeing some wild card spots.

Anyone else manage to get works outings together?

Unofficial weekend ones yes, but never anything sanctioned by employer. Usually involved the Giant of Gloucestershire aka Col de Poisson. Or Fish Hill as the locals know it Wink

I'm off to near San Gimignano for the weekend. Shall try to stick a bike in back of car if we're not overloaded with children's stuff. Any suggestions for cycling round there?

I have been cycling in central Tuscany. Wish I had.

I had a look in Openrunner and found a few routes round San Gimignano eg the links below.

I think you'll see many cyclists on the road. It's the home of pro cycling.

I haven't been cycling in central Tuscany and I still wish I had.

What exactly is a works outing?  I've never heard that phrase in the US.  Does it just mean a holiday?

WE organise an annual outing taking a half day holiday on a working day and the cyclists where I work do their best to convince each other that they are taking it easy while hiding the inner pain.
We usually get back for lunch and set up a buffet lunch for the rest of the lab.
Companies with a greater work ethic (procrastinators) have theirs on Saturday or Sunday.

Fantozzi also entered his works outing/run
