Cav strains his calf muscle on a Wii:

Quote:
Cavendish injures self with "Wii" game

Mark Cavendish is a two-time track World Champion and had the most victories of any rider in the peloton in the 2008 season, but he has come to woe in the off-season because, of all things, of a computer game.

He was playing a snowboarding game on his Nintendo Wii console when he fell from the board and hurt his calf muscle. "It's a pain, but it's a minor injury in the off-season and not a huge problem," Cavendish told eurosport.uk.

The 23-year-old sprinter still plans to join his Team Columbia teammates at a training camp on the island of Mallorca this week, where he will no doubt be the subject of jokes and comments.

One-legged standing on a wobble board or balance disc, minimum 5 minutes per day and Cav would not have screwed himself up.

Idea I'd just send them out of the house to have them experience a life
of youthful activities while I enjoy some peace and quiet with the wife Wink
imo.. 'playing' video games are not that constructive or beneficial of an activity..

Parenting 101..... Wink

In this day and age no matter how hard you try kids often won't do the "go out and do something" approach and in some cases you wouldn't want them to. Drugs, Alcohol abuse...worse, I'd rather know what mine are up to

Yeah, we do all those activities too.  Only problem is, we thought early on that would wear them out and thus keep them out of trouble.  Instead, we've learned (much to our dismay) it just makes them stronger . . . . they have more endurance and stamina . . . and ENERGY . . .

Kinda like the Kanya West song:  that that that that don't kill me, will only make me stronger.   Rolling Eyes

The Wii has amazing clinical applications in physical medicine and physiotherapy.  And it's less expensive than a lot of the stuff being used for similar treatment out there.
