if your only riding that climb alone 36x25 would do the job. Too small a gear equals going nowhere

see one guy there in that link saying he did it on a 39x27 and he only had to stand up for the steepest sections so definetly do it on the 36x25

Yeah that my be true but he was grinding out speeds of around 5kmph while he was seated.

he probably was crawling but with a slightly lower gear you could ride most of it at about 8-10mph which wouldnt be so bad

I normally go out with the people of the Tri/running club of Bishops stortford, there is a cycling club too, but you need mud guards and that sort of stuff, that I donīt like too much!

We should met up in Stevenage, that is in the middle us, and go from there!

i'd put a rear mud gear on my old training bike during the winter but thats about it. Hate the bloody things but its better than the bike being completely destroyed by muck & dirt. Washing the bike on a cold, damp winters day is never fun
