This sub forum is specifically for Noels GT Fantasy League, we've been playing this one collectively for a while now and have had some superb results, Maffy especially.....

For any interested Newbies, the game runs individually for the Giro, Tour and Vuelta and there is a side game for the best overall teams through the year.

the link is:
http://www.nrtoone.com/fantasy/cycling/index.php?page=home

Instructions:
Go into the site and register an account, you can have as amny as you like but every account needs a different email address. Once you have an account you can create your team up to a maximum of 50 pouints, as we get close to the GTs the site is populated with the relevant team riders.

Each rider is allocated a points total based on their previous performances, best riders cost you most points ie likes of Cavendish and Contador might cost you 10 - 15 points. Points cost goes from this to 1 point for the lowest of domestiques but don't discount them from your selections.

Once you have a team, remember to go into your account profile and join the JUSTCYCLING League.

It's also available on Facebook
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=202905471&v=info#!/pages/Fantasy-Cycling-Grand-Tours/130651603642377

Just take issue with one thing, Slapshot - you don't need a different email address for each of your teams.  All of mine use the same email.

Yes, Kathy is right - one email address will do but you need a different user name for each team.

okay, fair enough, I've always gone on the different email/different account theory; as long as folks get their teams in on time that's what matters

If anyone checks and finds out the riders are revalued and ready to pick, would they please post something.  Ta.  I will of course do the same.

I like his game best, because you pick a team and then just watch them.  No need to change riders or anything, just one go and that's it.

No doubt, if I have time, I shall pick some bogus teams too, just to make the league look fuller, and to prove to myself for the last time that cheap riders don't do that well, that a team of all Italians will also not do well, nor a team of all Brits or French.  Oh yes, another time I proved that a team of only older guys does not do well.

I remember someone once did very well with a team picked from the most expensive, like 14 points, then 13, then 11, etc.

I thought velogames was good this year so far.  They do a classics campaign, Giro, TDF and Vuelta.  It updates on the same day too.  There were 24 transfers allowed over 11 rounds of the classics round so you could get from Boonen and Cancellara to Valverde and Martin handy enough without making wholesale changes.  I think its easy enough to set up a league too...

I did it and it was enjoyable.
The GT version is very good.
Not complicated and regularly updated.
Changes allowed, right up to the start.

I'll set up a JC league on it when it's ready if anyone else is interested?

Velogames say on their website that the Giro game will start today but it's not ready to go yet.  I have created a Just Cycling league and the League Code is 29125155.

Please don't let it be just me and Huw... Laughing

I will join in. Post a reminder when it is actually up and running please. I will go live on Cobblestone to get the hang of it for a proper go next season (as in playing the entire year rather than any delusions of doing well Laughing)

I presume most people have seen / will see the email from Noel saying his game is gone live.

Crikey Huw, I think you have a very good lifestyle with regard to cycling and related activities, even if you ride a bike infrequently or never.  Of course I like my balance too, but yours, with the spirit you bring is, well, easily tolerated and even "profitable" or enjoyable obsession.  Allez.  Courage.

Gotcha

Actually not obvious.  I filled in a form for Just Cycling mini league and suddenly I had created one.  What are we called, do we have a code number or what?
