Who do people support (and why)? And who do people think will win the Superbowl this year.
For my sins I am a Vikings fan because the first game I saw was between a team in Purple and team in Orange and I chose the team in Purple as my team (I was 10 and on holiday in the US at the time).
Much as I'd love the Vikes to win they won't because i) they are the Vikings and they are to US Football what Walter Grodefrot is to DSing. ii) Tavaris Jackson and that secondary.

His book about his father is surpisingly excellent - thoroughly recommend it. Always thought he was a bit of a pillock before I read it. _________________ I'm just looking for one divine hammer |

Thanks for the thread MJM.....as I love me some football.
Watching my Niners play right now....with their sucky field positions, three turnovers, Sullivan starting, and we are tied with the Cards.... ....could they Niners actually win the season opener? |

I cannot watch football. At least with cycling the dope users look just like the non-dope users--if there are any. With football I laugh every time I flip past these human cartoons on the TV. _________________ "Listen, my son. Trust no one! You can count on no one but yourself. Improve your skills, son. Is Kurt Warner starting this season?
I lost a Brett Favre bet today and have to take my best friends out to dinner. Does the big GU on the fields stand for GreenBay's Useless..?
I've been more interested in college football, so I've paid no attention to who's got it going on this year in the NFL...because I know it's not the Rams. I'm guessing teams with Mannings on them will do well. _________________ Some people know the price of everything and the value of nothing. |

I don't doubt that you are right on the dope/football connection Bro. But it's amazing how big guys can be if you get to pick the best 2000 or so footballers out of a country with a population around 300 million. |

Couple of years since I read it - might revisit it soon. Was indeed excellent. |

Nope. You're wrong. This is the year of the Clown. They're going all the way. Just ask a Browns fan.
Yeah, true they say this every year. But, no, really, this year is THE year. They really mean it this time. It's true. If they don't have injuries they're going all the way . . .
PS-a better bet is how many days until I make my follow up post "what'll next year," which Browns fans also say every single year. |

Warner is starting and beating the Niners....aaaauuugh....why do the Niners suck so bad!!
Love college football...but then I went to USC, you know LA's own pro football team....
We are waiting for the Madden curse to take down Favre. |

| I think most people support the teams near where they were born….or grew up…guess that would make me a Bears fan. |

I hate to say but my head says Dallas wins the Super Bowl...My heart says the Vikings. I also thing the Giants and Eagles are both very good along with San Diego.
Looks like Tom Brady is OUT for the season...The Patriots are doomed!
Despite the migration of Brett Favre to the AFC, I think this is the year, the NFC produces more Super Contenders.

Philly.........11-5
NYG..........11-5
Wash..........5-11
NFC NORTH W L
Minnesota....11-5
Green Bay....9-7

AFC SOUTH W L
Indy............11-5
Jax..............10-6
Tenn.............7-9
Hou..............6-10

wow sm....you have the Niners above the Rams....wait, they both suck...never mind.
I hate the Cowboys....but that Romo to Owens connection is lethal. Here's hoping San Diego redeems itself and goes all the way. |

Yep. And an official court. Its called Eagles Court. You get convicted before the game is even over. Its not illegal to through "D" cell batteries at Terrell Owens though.
