We're in!

Not without something of a struggle as the SportCommunication online entry appeared to be hosted on a ZX81!

Matters not helped by the Marmotte not being listed as an event if using entry details from last year. Whilst I was ranting about French bureaucracy late last night, Mrs SR was re-registering us, as the Marmotte was available to "new entrants".  The Frogs are no match for the cunning of Mrs SR!

In the excitement, surnames and forenames were interchanged, so henceforth, I am "Rowslower" and the all powerful one is "Mrs RS".

I am almost looking forward to a return to the turbo trainer!

Hang on, didn't SR retire in triumph?

Hope rides again! Laughing

I had better answer this - mr SR has indeed retired but he is riding as my 'super domestique'. He had the choice of coming along and handing butties etc. out from the car but has chosen to ride along with me and do his pack horse impression.
He is secretly hoping that I get a puncture so he can whip his wheel off and extravagantly hand it to me then mend mine as I peddle off into the distance.
He is also hoping to chivy me along so that this year I spend less time stationary.  Embarassed

Even training to be a "domestique" is difficult. Whilst I'm no longer so worried about cadence, VAM or fighting in the feed-station queues, pedalling smoothly whilst carrying a Fortnum and Mason's hamper is a tough nut to crack. And don't even start on the problems associated with keeping a G&T chilled to perfection in a bidon!
