Hi All,
After a little chatting between Berck, Biosphere and myself (and kathy as well) we decided to try and clean things up a wee bit regarding the various bits of Fantasy League stuff scattered around the various forums.

I'm going to make a few changes overnight that'll reflect the changes we want to make and see how that goes. The Quiz Threads will end up in here as well both the Cycling Revealed Trivia Quiz and our own wee Quiz game that's been running through the winter

Obviously we'd like your feedback on the changes over the next week or so, if everyone's happy we'll leave the changes in place

Cheers

Dear All
okay changes completed for now.

What I've done is create three sub-forums within the new Fantasy Cycling Games and Quizzes forum to cover the main three fantasy league we generally take part in. I know there are more leagues out there if you want threads create them in the main body of the main forum, if they become popular we can create additional sub forums for them.

What the changes do is seperate everything thats relevant to the individual league. I've asked if anyone can do a synopsis of the Cobblestone rules and set up, it would be useful to have

Please let us have feedback on the change in this thread
Cheers

Donald

First off thanks a lot for the work put into this Smile

I worry a bit about the sub forums not really being necessary (2 of the 3 host only one proper thread) and whether it's not very user friendly in terms of more clicks needed etc., but since I seem to be the only one worried about it, then so be it . . .

I'm kinda with bio on this one.

I appreciate the time and effort involved in setting up the new thread and format, but can't we just have a separate thread for each Topic/Subject????

I'm already finding it a pain to have to click on each one to see what has been posted in each as it's not apparent from just seeing the titles of the sub-forums whether something new has been posted or not.

Sozza.

A tiny yellow lamp appears when something new has been posted.

Thanks kathy. Maybe it's just a case of getting used to it.

It's just that I only really participate in the Trivia quiz and just enjoy the fp's and banter on the other threads that I just want quick access.

You do need to be logged in for that, which I tend to be just from not logging out as the day goes by whereas with other sites I make a point of logging out (this site doesn't seem to bother with any tracking cookies (or maybe that's what we pay for)), so I'm relaxed about that, but it might not work for everyone.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Addressing the concerns; the idea was to try and bring everything together but as I got through the process last night it was "cleaner" to give the main leagues sub-forums of their own. I'm happy to drop the subs for Cobblestone and NRT but our own needs a separate thread. They are quick to access, clicking the sub-forums link on the front page takes you to them directly, there should be fewer clicks to access them.

Like the main forums and threads New posts are alerted by the orangey button next to the thread, but as noted you have to be logged in.

Cookies, I don't think this format does them though don't quote me, never looked to be honest.

Can we leave it as is for now and come next week if people would still prefer removing the NRT and Cobblestone sub-forums and making them threads then so be it

Cheers

I think the SM game definitely needs its own sub folder. Too many other FP threads. This will keep in clean. The other two I could go either way.

Hi All,
Following you're feedback and my own eventual conclusions I've dropped the NRT Fantasy League an the Cobblestone League back to threads rather than sub-forums, if the need occurs in the future we can put them back as necessary

Cheers

scratch  scratch  scratch
IMO....You are talking cycle races, so why not place in the cycling threads.

I didn't understand the rigmarole when it was taken away and now I'm back I don't understand the codes you need to know to find the thread.
After all I'm just a cyclist that looks into the "Just" cycling forum.

Biosphere has kindly put some links in for us outsiders to get into the threads and I thank him for that.

I like that you get the top six.
The new table looks kind of cool, with colours and all.
So far seems good.

Thanks for those of you who do the real work.

Now if I can only get in the top six by the end of the year.

I did indeed.  But I am talking about at the end of the year.  After picking all year long.  But hey, its not like there aren't people who are more fanatic than me and know more.  I just don't like all the zeroes that pile up sometimes.  Six places mean less zeroes.

Well, we all get our hits and misses. Some get more hits than others. I've gotten lucky a couple of times, but missed badly others. I've only been able to score 16 points so far this year.
